Well i think th etime has come...my Laney VC30 doesent sound the way it did so i think the valves need changing. Ive never done this before and havent realy got a clue about how to go about it. Could any of you point me in the right direction please?

that amp uses EL84s in cathode bias so no need to rebias - just pop a new set in there.

give Watford Valves or Hotrox a call, tell them what amp you've got and see what they suggest.  from current production EL84s I'd say to go for some JJ/Teslas.

Recently re-valved my Harlequin with the Harma cryo valves and they''re absolutely fantastic and these replaced some  NOS Mullards that Ive used for the past few years!!!!!

Right, cheerrs guys. Is it the preamp or output valves that need changing?

And what kind of tonal changes woould the JJ/Telsar vaves make?
