Haha i wouldn't know i don't have Gibson pickups as this is a Tokai explorer.
They are just heavy pickups! i have tried miracle man, custom warpig and nailbomb in it and i think these are finally the right pickups for it, i wanted pure heavy/80's metal and this is what i have got and it rules.

Cool, man, can't wait to hear some clips.   I just got an Ibanez RG4ex and already have a nailbomb I took out of a strat, but at Tim's suggestion, have decided on a Painkiller neck, I am pretty sure.   Have you heard the new Megadeth?, and if you have, can you get that neck solo tone the new guitar player has with the Painkiller?

Yeah you probably can i don't see why not, though that Glenn Drover sound is quite a smooth sounding neck sound i think so maybe a Cold Sweat would be better for that kinda sound, but i'm not a neck pickup expert as i use the bridge 80% of the time.

Cheers Jonathon!
I took a risk going back to contemporary even though i said i wanted something low gain, but it has paid off because i love it again now. :D
BTW you got any pics of those V's?  :P

this surely needs a black/white/black scratch plate ;)

(you know it makes sense!)

congrats on your new pickups!

looks nicer with the open coils, I think.

didn't you used to have a warpig in there (ceramic?)? you prefer the PK's, i take it?

I've had a Ceramic Warpig, Nailbomb and Miracle Man (bridge only) in there, i prefer the Painkillers in it. Not that the others sucked, but the Painkillers are better suited to my tastes. I thought they would be more artificial sounding due to the sound of the Painkiller album but they are not at all.
