Seriously good and really heavy   Seems like they've taken the move to Roadrunner seriously.

What exactly was wrong with Train of Thought ? Octavariums not my favourite, but it's still a good album.

Motly that it's 5 fantastic prog musicians trying to write a heavy album for the sake of it, seemingly withoput much actual interest in the genre.

They've obviously always had metallic elements, but train of thought just seemed, well, naive, to me.

And all the tunes were rubbish.

Woah, then you must HATE Falling into Infinity!

There is no such thing as a Dream Theater album which is also a piece of shite (except maybe Falling into Infinty, but even THAT had its moments) but rather, a Dream Theater album who's musical brilliance hasn't grown on you yet.

But personally, my fave by DT (actually, by ANYONE) is Scenes From a Memory. I've had it for over a year and I still hear something different each time I listen to it.

But strangely enough, I don't listen to them so much for their playing skill, but rather for their composing skill, and the fact they are a band that can write a great (and still complex) tune.

But the heretic can think what he likes... :)

LOL.

Scene's... is in my top 5 of all time. Well, maybe top 10. I've been going to see dream theater live for a decade, am a big fan. But, and not for the lack of trying, I absolutely cannot gat into the last three albums. Systematic Chaos is getting a bit better agian, but god, train of thought and Octavarium were awful.

Dream Theatre arn't really progressive anymore  becuase all their stuff sounds the same, more regressive than progressive if you listen to their earlier stuff which is miles better.
