Finally got round to getting into London for some guitar shopping, and I am now the proud owner of a PRS SE Singlecut in Tobacco Sunburst. Thanks to Hunter and noodleplugerine for recommending this guitar to me about two months ago on one of my threads, you weren't wrong it is def 100% what I was after :)

Plays really nice, and doesn't sound half bad either - although it is just dying for a set of Zebra BKPs :D  The sustain is very good, lovely warm blues/rock sound, and came well setup right from the shop (TurnKey Music, just down from Denmark Street). It is currently the perfect foil to my Warpigged SG, which is Metal to the core!

All smiles at chez-moi at the moment!

That is beautiful man the only thing that puts me off is where the pickup switch is.... it looks really awkward

Yeah the switch looks awkward, but its actually nice and easy to flick with your pinky while playing. Just been playing it again :D :D :D

One thing worth noting; I tried four of the same model in the shop and the one I ended up with felt more solid and had a slightly fatter neck than the other three. I have read that the feel of the PRS SE models can differ slightly - goes to show its worth trying every guitar in the shop!! (the guy serving me was very patient :) )

Yeah, will have to be external links though as it is a non-BKP axe at the mo. Interesting comparing it to my Warpigged SG too. Having only had one guitar up to now, I had nothing to compare the Warpigs too.  Having a second axe with stock humbuckers in it just underlines how HEAVY the warpigs are :twisted:  So not only new guitar joy, but also a fresh bout of BKP worship today  :wink:

Congratulations man, another convert to the PRS SE cause. I've had a whale blue Singlecut since just before Christmas, and I'm delighted with it.

Like you say, zebra pickups are the way forward - mine is screaming out for a set of Rebel Yells I think! Any idea which pickups you're aiming to put in yours?

Sweet - I nearly bought the blue one, but the Tobacco one felt better when playing it!

I was in the mind for a set of Zebra Rebel Yells too, especially after reading a recent testamonial here from Yamhammer with a set in an LP. I was definitely thinking a RY bridge, and maybe the neck too - or perhaps a Stormy Monday neck. Gotta be Zebra though!

That's one glaring omission from the SE line - a Singlecut Trem.

Nice guitar, Mr Not_out!  :D  Was it reasonably priced?  I always found Turnkey a bit expensive, but haven't bought anything there for years.

I was pleasantly surprised at the price actually, especially as shops on Denmark Street are usually a bit pricey. I trawled round the internet beforehand to get a feel for the cost and it was a bit cheaper in the shop! They were on offer though, I think the shop had knocked about 50 quid off: came in at 379 with free gig bag (I think that is a standard PRS deal though) and a free set of strings 'cos I asked :)
