Haha yeah it has plenty of gain! I only had it at about volume 2-3 or something too, my cr@p wee computer mic gets distorted if it's any louder.
Have you tried turining down the microphone volume/sensitivity?
I can record my savage se at full whack with a £10 pc world mic by doing that, lol.
