F Spacing

Hi Guys.
I have found a set of MM's for sale second hand but they are f spaced? What does this meen? Would they fit in a Ibanez SZ320?

f spacing means fender spaced.

the pole pieces are spaced differently to account for the different string spread of tremolo equipped guitars

so they will fit if your guitar has a tremolo system

the neck pickup does not need to be spaced differently as the strings are in the normal position at this point.

Yes, it means the bridge pickup will have 53mm spacing (and the neck 50mm).

The SZ320 has a tune-o-matic bridge doesn't it?  I would guess the actual string spacing at the bridge is 52-53mm, in which case you should be fine with either a 50 or 53mm spaced pickup.

It's not really the type of bridge, just a matter of how wide the actual string spacing is.

A vintage Fender tremolo has spacing of about 55mm, a Schaller Floyd is about 54mm - so they match perfectly with a 53mm-spaced pickup.  Modern Fenders and Gibsons are about 52-52.5mm, so they fall inbetween the 50 and 53mm spacing - 50's a bit too narrow and 53's a bit too wide.
