I almost gave this site a miss when I first heard about it. I've been determined to get some new pickups for my guitar and have been looking through the brands, had almost settled on Dimarzio, but, me being me, kept on trawling through message boards for people's advice. Ended up hearing about a couple of UK companies, but after taking a first glance at the sites I promptly left. I think the names of the pups here put me off, which is odd because now I think they're pretty cool =P

I carried on browsing forums and suddenly came across a chunk of people who were debating how good BKP's really were. There were big supporters and then the anti-cool brigade who were pissing on any suggestion that they might be any good. The name 'Warpig' kept coming up so I google'd that and found a Total Guitar review of it. Then after seeing the thing I was hooked.

Seeing how involved Tim and Steve are with everybody here is amazing, I mean, it's like nothing I've ever seen before! If it were any other company then I would've sent off for a pair of Warpig's without a second thought, but after talking with you guys here I realise that maybe I need something else.

I've only been here two days or so and it's been brilliant  :D

I read the group p-90 review in Guitar&Bass mag. after one last microphonous squeal out went the minihumbuckers and I put some bkp-91s in, now my les paul deluxe makes me forget which other guitars I'll buy, I've already got what I want.

I new there were a few people making hand wound pickups in this country from looking through adds in the backs of guitar mags. I read the reviews of BKP's in various places and visited the site.
When the bridge mini HB died in my LP deluxe, I contacted Tim about a vintage rewind and took the plunge.
So I had a great sounding deluxe and  I decided to get a set of mules for my 95 standard Plus.
They came this weekend and I have hardly put the damn guitar down since. :guitar4:

I heard about them from Jon at Noiseworks in Coventry.

He knows his stuff, and he was really inpressed with what he had seen and heard.  So I bought a HSS set, including a Nailbomb and 2 x Irish Tours. I was really impressed, especially with the Nailbomb.  Very high output pickup with good tone.

Heard about 'em on the Shamray Custom Shop forum. I'm hoping to get a custom built Soloist there soon :).

I was hunting for a new bridge pickup and reading people's opinions over at the Fender forum. Someone had something good to say about BKPs and everyone else panned him with their oh-so-cynical "they can't be as good as he says, therefore they must be terrible" views. So I came here to check it out.

I now have a Sinner pickup in my Zion guitar and I'm tentatively planning a whole new guitar with more BKPs.

I'm a George Lynch fan, so hanging out at his forum
I read that WithoutWarning was using them and was
giving them great reviews :)

So I decided to check'em out, at first because I've
grown tired of everybody using EMGs, SDs and DiMarzios.

I was getting disappointed with the tones I was getting from my normal pickups.  I knew there had to be something better.

So I started doing some net searches.  I found several companies such as Fralin, Wolftone and Bare Knuckle.  I wrote Tim and asked for some sound clips.  He sent me some and I was floored.

I purchased a Miracle Man and the difference between that and my DiMarzio was staggering.

My friends now call me a 'Bare Knuckle Evangelist' because I am always telling people about these incredible pickups.

I read a couple of reviews in "Guitar" magazine then read the HC reviews.  I wanted to buy British if possible.  I e-mailed Tim then spoke to him on the phone.  Having spoken to Tim I was sold and ordered my 1st set.

I'm now saving up for another guitar just to try more BK pickups and telling everyone I know they should install them.  :)

This forum also helped me get my credit card out - Seeing the dedicated bunch answering questions and how well they rate the pickups.

i think i first saw a review in total guitar, but i voted "other internet forum" because the ultimate guitar forum is the one that really piqued my interest, mainly guys like MDV.

EDIT: i haven't actually got round to getting any yet, but i will...
