Last year a Music Live i saw the stall full of marshalls and a really nice Les Paul. I'd heard good things about your pickups so i decided to take the plunge and buy one. very happy

Huh, I can't remember... Maybe I clicked on a banner somewhere? I don't know. When I first visited the site, there were only a very few humbucker models -- only Stormy Monday, Mule, Miracle Man, and Warpig, but I'm not sure -- and I thought they were too expensive. Maybe a year later or more I came back because I found the link among My Favourites. I joined the forum, and ended up with a camo Mule set. :D

I saw an ad and as I had been looking at various options, I checked out the web site and just looked around ( Harmony Central)- heard the buzz and bought a set of Apaches. I have a mate who is a session player and asked him and he had heard BKPs and said they were the better choice than the Fralins I was originally looking at.

Chritsmas eve. After picking up a magazine where they had all P90's reviews. I felt this was something away from the mainstream, kind of a rebel thing. Well at least  that was the impression I got from the article. Of course the "Moonshine" helped too :)

My local music shop started stocking them sometime late last year and had them displayed in the window. When asked about them, the sales guy was raving about them, saying how good they were.

At the time I was looking to replace the SD's I had in my Tokai Love Rock cause they sounded too clinical, and without any mid detail, which I found annoying. Anyway, did some research into BKP's, found the website and a couple of reviews for different pickups.

I saw the detail of the Black Dog set, and thought that they would meet all the requirements I had. Luckily enough, the music shop had a Black Dog loaded Love Rock in to try out, so I plugged it into a Cornford Harlequin (the 6w combo) and tried it clean, with gain and a couple of pedals and was impressed. I ordered a set of Black Dog's through the shop, and they installed them for free.

I was that impressed, I bought a set of Emerald's to go into my set neck Iceman.

When Brow bought his first pair and Ben got an endorsement, I found it on the SD forums.

I just related to the vibe of the adverts and product names - shallow I know but somebody on the team got the marketing bang on.

Very British and very Rock n roll!

Then I kept reading stellar reviews of the pickups and thought I really should take more notice.

Found the site and had my first dealings with the BKP team of pros and experienced the best customer service ever.

I've abandoned Dimarzio and will never look back...

I'll won't own a guitar without BKPs again, I'm hooked (ya lovely buggers)

Thanks.

Google, and more google, so I guess the HC reviews played a part, but I always take those with a hefty bag of salt.
Then I saw people bagging them on a Fender forum so I knew they must be good
Actually, what brought me to BKP was that all the other small pickup makers seem to specialise in purely vintage replicas, whereas BKP already make pickups that sound like I want them to sound, and 8 string versions of those wouldn't be too much of an issue.
I also wanted to stick to a company whose first language was English, in case of communication difficulties.
So there.

EDIT : I also got a rave review from a very picky long term customer who is a recent BKP convert.

I read the reviews on Harmony Central - As well as the uniform 10 out of 10s I garnered the 'ring them up and ask' thing - Emailed a question, got a detailed reply in 45 minutes and realised with customer service like that the product must be good.

And I was not proved wrong.
BKPS: Milks, P90s, Apaches, Mississippi Queens, Mules, PG Blues, BG FP 50s, e.60s strat custom set

I saw an ad in Total Guitar and the reviews of the Miracle Man and the Warpig. So i had a look at the website and it all sounded interesting stuff, especially the names of each type. I could tell that a lot of research and love had gone into them. Checked out H.C and it was all positive reading. So I went to the London Guitar Show :P on a mission! I tried out the warpigs first in Felines ESP Viper. Blimey I thought! Then I had a go on Tim's Les Paul with a Miracle Man in the Bridge and a Scolloped neck above the 12th. I was sold there and then. I tried Nailbomb too. If anyone want's to try out all the bk pups Feline have loads with them all fitted for you to try and compare each type!
Warpig, MQ,
Miracle Man-Trilogy Suite, Cold Sweats, Black Guards, Rebel Yells & Irish Tours!
