Hey guys.

I'm currently in the process of putting together a new pedalboard (when it finally arrives, damn DHL!) and am thinking of putting a Tuner mute button on the board that will go to my BOSS TU2 Pedal Tuner.

I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to possible brands I could look into (not looking to spend too much on it if possible), or if anyone here has ever built 1 in the past, and would be upfor coming to an arrangement to make me 1, then please post :)

i have the boss TU-2. it mutes itself when you use it if you use the OUTPUT jack, but not the bypass.

Yup, and that's how I'm currently using it :)

I'm wanting to remove the tuner from the pedalchain when I'm not using it :)

if i get what you are saying, you want everything to be true bypass am i correct? cause if so, 90 bucks and any pedal you own that isnt true bypass will become one...

Not necessarily to be True Bypass, but I'm re-building my Pedalboard so I'm trying to keep anything 'non essential' out of the chain when I'm not using it :)

I already have a 3 channel looper on the board for Chorus/Tremolo, Phaser and Delay :)

it says right at the bottom of the page that they are great for tuner mutes if thats what you want.

im looking into one for my pedalboard because in the studio i always go DI into my amp and that is always a pain in the ass

I've seen guys on Ebay selling single loop boxes that I could use as a Tuner mute for around £35, but I was wondering if anyone here had ever built 1 and would be willing to build me 1. I'd pay for it, obviously :)

They are good quality and Banzai Effects are based in Germany. I've ordered from them before, very efficient. :lol:

The TU2 includes a buffer that can be handy at the start of your signal chain if you're going to run "true bypass" pedals. I'd just keep it connected "as normal". :)

I use the Little Lehle. Uses special gold plated relais and provides IMO the most lossless/best sounding bypass. Very rugged too, switch feels great at yor feet and the LED is just huge.

The HBE was 1 of the 1st things I considered, but I don't really NEED to spend that much money on 1.

I'm doing it more to experiment really (hence trying to keep costs down) than a 'this is how it's going to be' scenario :)

Yeah, I realise they do, but I'm also experimenting with the buffers in the HBE Dos Mos pedal, and also in a Roger Mayer Voodoo Axe Fuzz. To see if/how the different buffers differ.

It's just me overcomplicating the issue :roll:

This is something that i offer, i can build one for you for around £30 if you really want one building. . to be honest a cheap A/B box will do the job fine.

I normally build this into a full pedalboard interface which houses all the in and outs and loop etc too

I have to agree, far too many people place too much emphasis on true bypass things. I use a TU-2 and it is NOT noisy in the slightest. Any pedals that are, I simply put them in a CHEAP (ie, $%&# the cost of Keeleys) true bypass looper and they're nice and out the way.

I'm not doing it to be 'anal' about using purely true bypass, just that I've bought a Roger Mayer Voodoo Axe Fuzz (which has a great buffer in it) as does the HBE Dos Mos which I currently have on my pedalboard.

I'm doing it mainly for experimental reasons :)

I will have a 3 channel loop pedal on my completed pedalboard, in which will be my Chorus and Tremolo, Phaser and Delay pedals. I'm just trying to keep the 'main' signal path as un-cluttered as possible :)
