In case anyone's interested in insuring their equipment:

Cost me £109 to insure £4,000 worth of stuff - it's insured to stay at our practise room but I also have 100% coverage away from that (ie, if I'm keeping it at home) and also when it's in my car (travelling to/from gigs, not for overnight storage).

Pretty good I reckon, I feel better knowing that I've got it.

when my old band was gigging we had everything insured through them.  if anything got damaged, stolen, misplaced etc... we were fully covered whether the gear was in our studio or out at a gig.  we also got public liability insurance too for those times when the lighting rig falls on an unsuspecting punter

Haha yeah, I've got about £10,000 public injury insurance included and £1,000,000 damage to equipment so if I brain someone, I'm sorted and more importantly so's my beloved stuff. Heh.
