No it's not me :p but this guy makes some serious whammy style noises even though he has no trem.

Tapped harmonics are excellent fun, for a very early example of tapped harmonics (and other sillyness heres Adrian Belew (when he as with Bowie) back in 1978

It takes a while for him to get started but once he starts I like it a lot ;) (yeah pre EVH)

Oh yeah look for some Stanley Clarke as he was doing some mad bass tapped harmonics in the 70s too

Haha, how does that strat stay in tune?! His playing is pretty cool though, especially since evh wasn't around yet.

He was around, but I think he was still turning his back at that point in time.
