I enjoyed that version :)

I remember looking him up when you mentioned him once before

In keeping with the beatles theme (and my other Adrian Belew one)

I prefer version but it's too short http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVhYAKD_TuA

(I also prefer his music to Vai's)

yes, precisely.

as for the Vai note, i've never been a fan of his music. obviously he has great technical skill and he's not just a tuneless-shredder, but all his stuff just seems a bit pretentious really.

that John Butler track is nice. Have you guys ever ever heard of Beatle Jam? Basically it's a group of musicians including ex greatful dead & Black crowes guys that got together originally to play Pink Floyd songs in a bluesy manner (they called themselves Blue Floyd) but then decided to tour as Beatlejam. They had different guitarists at different points including the aforementioned MArc Ford & my personal hero Audley freed. All the beatles songs were re-interpreted as blues songs. I can't find a link to them on you tube, but if anyone wants to check them out, just pm me

John Butler Trio are great, excellent musicians and the lead sound he was getting for the slide solo was really nice :) I agree with you about Vai, sam, then again I've gone off most instrumental guitar stuff other than Gilbert and Satch. And whilst we're talking about Gilbert, heres a great Beatles cover http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=o9QL0Jkb_GU&mode=related&search=

Its a pretty cool vibe he gets

tom i'll check that link in a sec.

Horsehead- that one as well.

and Jp- awesome that you got to see him.

the one thing i dont quite get, is that it looks like an eleven string... because where one of the tuning pegs should be, theres a little decorative hole thing.... i think...?

Go for one of his earlier CD's. they are a bit political and environmentalist but his work is amazing. I'll have a look through my collection and have a recommendation for ya
