I have only neen to the Guitar Experience shop (I got my nano head there for a good price). They had a small workshop area, but I believe they have off site workshop for the anything of the non minor kind.

I have to say that from what I have heard they both have a pretty good reputation quality wise (prepares to hear horror stories straight after posting this).

I found them very helpful, they had good kit and they seemed to know what they where takling about. I'd be happy enough to give work done there.

Though with the Plek system you only seem to have two choices anyway

I'd say give them a call (you get a far better idea than with email) and take it from there

As Rob says, they both have a good rep. A mate of mine is a good friend of Charlies and has told me what happened but so far as getting your gear looked at any buying stuff, it is irrelevant.

There is also a Chandler Guitar's in San Francisco, I had them make me a hollow Strat guitar body years ago.  I used to see them at NAMM in the 90's.  I have also had them make me several pickguards as then have a custom service which has good prices.

Charlie Chandler is a great guy, I have spoken to him several times at LGS and Music Live, and I have bought a few things from him over the years.

I don't know about Chandler Guitars, as I have never dealt with them.
So many pickups, so little time
