Well, all sides seem to be natural wood (no mdf) and there are some aspects that make it look pretty real to me. But it does look too clean inside, the wood should have a bit more patina maybe ... maybe not?

I'm not an expert, but if no doubt would have been raised, and checking the feedback of the seller, I would have taken it for real.

Hi well we've had so many messages around the world saying that the cab is in fact a mid 1960's Marshall and most people seem to think it's a 1965-66 model. They do say the plastic handles were an addition as suspected, but the general feeling from most ebayers that have contacted us that we are likely to sell to a collector as opposed to someone who will actually use it.

Anyway, you cannot believe how nice it looks and how it sounds. We are well excited as my mate hd no idea, i mean NO IDEA what he had. He just thought it may have been just a standard Marshall cab from the 70's  - not a gem from the 60's!

Wierd, we've had offers for well over a grand by people from the far east and everything, but were just gonna keep the auction running to see how much it goes for. Cool!

I had two 4x12 Marshall cabs with my Plexi in 1969. By then there had been some mods to the cabs - leather handles had been replaced by the large side inset plastic ones with chrome bar and had castors on the bottom (with recesses in the tops of the flat (bottom) cab. The pinstripe cloth and the central wood strut with plastic pad looks exactly as I remember but I would agree with Hunter that the inside looks remarkably clean for a 40 year old cab.
P.S. on having a 2nd look at the speakers the bolts holding them in place seem to have corroded which would suggest it is probably genuine.

looks like a legit Pinstripe Marshall 4x12 to me - if the speakers are in good working order there should be no reason why it shouldn't fetch at least £1500

I'm suprised you've kept the auction up.

If I were you I'd bring it down, work on a target and sell it through dealers etc where you have better control of the price you sell it for.

Then again, I'd probably keep it for another ten years and sell it then.

Yep - I'd keep it too but it's my mates and he really wants to sell it!?! So, I'm quite enjoying seeing the bids stack up!
