Modding the 5150 crunch channel to clean channel.

Hails Guys
i would liek to know if theres a chance(and if itīs too expensive to do it) that i could convert my 5150 CRUNCH channel into a 100% clean channel.?

it may or may not work , but its cheap and reverseable .
 in the first 3 tube stages put a 12ay7   as these have less gain and that should do it..
 thats the easiest and cheapest way

no you don't usually need to re-bias for preamp valves.

ahahah cause the crunch channel doesnt do it for me. itīs good, but you have to crank it up so loud.. that it isnīt funny. so i preffer to have a realclean channel, and use some alternative ways to distort it. like pedals.

due to the way the 5150 is configured, anything you do to the clean channel with affect the dirty channel's tone too.

I've just swapped my single channel 6505 with my mate's 5150 mkII and the mkII is a MUCH better amp.  the clean channel is much cleaner AND you have a footswitchable crunch channel.  lastly, the dirty channel is tighter than the 6505 and has more note defination.

if you want a clean channel I'd say to sell your mkI head and get a mkII instead.
