it's arrived! 1983 Burny LP Custom, shiny blue finish. gold hardware with black scratchplate.
EDIT: dont ask what its doing on the grass... my oh-so-intelligent mate decided it would be a good idea to lay it down on the lawn whilst i was inside. :?

parcelforce man delivered it this morning and i managed to convince him i was my dad some how, so i signed for it.
this thing is incredible. i thought the finish looked nice in the photos, but i mean... jesus christ... this thing is BLUE!... it's such a deep colour, almost sparkly but not exactly... as soon as i can nab a good camera from someone i'll take some photos... i can't even put the ones from the shop's website up because it's now been taken down!
anyway, yer, it plays fantastically and feels of really high quality build/finish. in fact just checking the binding now, (triple black/white or whatever you call it) it's absolutely perfect.
the guy said it was 'near mint' condition and it really is.
there's a tiny bit of buzz on the lower strings but the action is ridiculously low so i'll sort that out in no time.
the neck is perfect; chunky but not overly so- i was worried i wouldnt cope with it but its great.
the hardware is all faded as i think i discussed with dave; which means it doesn't look cheap or naf at all... the whole guitar has quite a vintagey feel to it. (it is 25 years old after all!)
sound wise, it's got the apparently well-regarded 'VH-1s', which are supposed to be great. for stock pickups, (actually after a discussion with the seller they might be 'non-stock' pickups but you get what i mean), they're great.
very classic rock, not a great deal of 'oomph' or low-end but apart from that they're nice. (i'll probably swap them out at some point as i can sell 'em for a tidy packet on ebay).
overall... i couldn't be happier! :D :D :D :D
