Well lets discuss about the pedals that we came across that sewpt our feet. I will start 1st.

Creamtone G2D pedals http://www.g2d.co.nz/ - I's a boutique pedal that i tried yesterday at my local guitar shop. This pedal is very creamy like the name suggest and smooth. It is not muddy and has good definition. Tried it with a Strat and its sounded amazing but not equally gd with humbuckers, but there are switches inside to set it for humbucker use. The thing i like about it is it's touch sensitive and as you roll down volume it does not have that fuzziness. It can doe Jimi Hendrix low gain tone easily. It has a boost channel that lets you change from your rhythm to lead sound. It is abit like a Tubescreamer but way much smoother and not as much mid hump.The only thing i do not really like is that the pedal is huge.

well, its not necessarily a pedal, cause it comes in 3 or 4 different rackmount options as well as a stompbox, but the BBE Sonic Maximizer has got to be one of the best inventions out there IMO. it has 2 knobs and basically takes the best points of EQs and Compressors all into one. it will clear up any mud, get rid of fizz, make your tone thicker, tighten up the bass, and basically just make your rig sound better. i dont care if you think you have the best rig in the entire world, this can improve it.

Boss DD-2.

Digital delay by name, analog by nature. Warm sounding, receptive and reponsive controls, quiet operation and built to last.

I love it, it's one of the few pedals that I would be heartbroken if it broke or got nicked.

Analog Zoom pedals. I have a PD01 Power Drive od pedal and a HL01 Hyper Lead distortion pedal and both are excellent, so naturally, Zoom discontinued them :?  You can fetch one on ebay for under £30 got mine for £15!

because i am the sort of person that has to build things.

I have done 3 of these so far.  The large beaver, phaser (modded with 45/90 modes) and the tri booster.

the sound quality is excellent, one of my mates who has an old big muff wanted to trade for the beaver!!

They are relaitively straight forward to build - if you can wire a guitar then this isnt much more difficult


I suppose it s basically like Airfix for grownups

my modded boss ge-7 is surely the most useful pedal i own.

however, i was recently really blown away by an ibanez soundtank ts-5 tubescreamer. i brought it in the states recently for fourty bucks as an experiment, and modified it myself to ts808 specs with carbon resistors. i really like the tone of it. wish it wasn't in a poor plastic box ;) strongly prefer it to my modded sd-1.

With you on this one. I built a version of a very expensive ($400) Tube Screamer clone, and it sounds great. I also like the homemade look with no markings etc as then people wonder what the hell you are using :twisted:

What mods have you done to it? I own a ge-7 and I'd love to be able to use it, but every time I engage it it emits a horrible whining noise and is therefore completely unusable. I've heard of kits you can get to make the pedal true bypass and get rid of the whining - is this what you did? If so, where can I get one?

mine didn't whine, but it was rather noisy. check this old thread out:

Those clone kits look AMAZING!! I definately fancy a couple of them - namely the flanger and phaser - but I'd probably opt more for the pre-assembled ones. Very reasonably priced and the fact that the Flanger clones that classic ADA really sealed it for me.

Bookmarked that mofo.

And, while not being an effect, the BOSS TU-2 for making my life 100x easier

TwilightOdyssey: I love the OCD but i didnt really like the Big D, it does what it does well but does not suit me playing n sound.
Anyway i am trying to check out Menatone King of Britain, Foxy Brown and Red Snapper. http://menatone.com/ hopefully soon

Currently i am waitng for my Skreddy Top Fuel to arrive and i have tried it before getting 1. It sound great, Fuzzy but very Articulate modeled after Dacid Gilmour The Wall lead sound. It is a Big Muff variation but different enough to justify the price. But do take note that this pedal is meant to be middy but i like it. Skreddy does cool fuzz pedals http://skreddypedals.com/
