Guitar Re-build... so it begins
« on: July 18, 2007, 06:08:50 PM »
Hi everyone, its been a while since I was last on here. But I'm still planning on the re-build.

I've stripped the former guitar, and thrown out all the gaff that I didnt want, pickups, neck, well everything but the body.

The body has been sanded down about 80% complete, just the troublesome bits left to do. i have finished the photoshop composite of the body, including the colour burst, a change from the nosebleed neon green that I was planning. Ignore the S+S+S pickup combo on the pic, i cant be arsed with getting my camera out.

Still planning for the Rebel Yell + Mother Milk x 2.

Any feedback on the idea, although its simple it is my first attempt, would be appreciated.

Do you want something like this? I think green bursts are very pretty.

Yeah, without the flame maple effect. I should have just borrowed a pic from the net, instead of killing an hour. Got a hint of yellow through it as well.

Have you had a play on this site?

Pity you throw out the rubbish bits, I collect that sort of stuff for chopping around and experiments
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

Damn right  :D

I like playing about with this type of stuff.  Reshapped a dodgy neck to an asymmetrical one the other month.  Just got to buy some resin for the CARBON FIBRE that will cover it <---- insert little headbanging emoticon here.

I'd be interseted in the pots and electrics, but if you're building an axe for your sis, I would hang onto them

Nah, going to be using some decent, unshagged kit for my sis guitar. But as for the electronics, i can post them up to you.
