I haven't considered a wireless device at all mainly due to tone loss issues. But on my recent gig I felt very limited in my abilities to move due to all my cables, and to be honest, on big stages you don't hear the difference so much.

There are so many choices though and they range from 200-1,500 EUR.

What I am wondering is if anyone has any experience with some systems and can recommend which is the best for tone and ease of use?

I allways heard the AKG Bug system was pretty good?

I have an Audip Technica one which isn't bad.

At the end of the day, fi your only playing pubs and clubs - no one cares about your tone being GOD LIKE as long as it is good, so I'd go for something that is reliable!

I use an AKG SR60, which cost $800 US ... barely use it, however!!

I think I've used it at one gig in the few years I've owned it. Even a high end wireless system like the AKG still thins the tone out too much for my taste.

That being said, the higher end AKGs are about the best you can get, aside from having Shure custom-make you one. (Which they do)

Apparently there is a system in the US called X2 which is supposed to be quite good sounding? Anyone heard of it?

this may sound very wrong....
but i will say it
EMG seem proud to say that their products are good over wireless because of the low impedance, so could it be possible to fit a little thing like an afterburner or whatever they call it internally, have it turned off (which still lowers impedance - they claim), i am not saying its true
then sound won't be degraded TOO much atleast?

well i haven't had experience with them, and i suppose it won't be true bypass if it still lowers the impedance?
and whatever you use would have to be fitted to alll your stage guitars lol

sorry, that looked a little wrong. i was still on the topic of if you had a weird little impedance converting thing inside the guitar, it would have to be on all of your stage guitars
