Riff Raffs doing DC - clip with new recording gear
« on: July 31, 2007, 10:38:32 PM »
A very quick clip of my Riff Raff'd SG doing some 'DC via my new recording setup.

Ideally I need some mixing software I think, or even a stand alone mixer.  What do you experienced recording folks think?

I'm trying to upload it now - keep getting error messages.

Is there a problem with the site?  I just get a "Cannot upload...." error...

How big is the file?
We changed servers about 2 months ago and the upload limit may have changed in the process...

Ah - it was a 3.6ish meg MP3.  Is that too big?

I've had exactly the same problem, hense why I've stoped posting clips. Last 3 times I've posted it hasn't uploaded stuff even when the mp3s are VERY compressed, and very small files.  :?

I'm looking into it. The limit used to be 10Megs, but it looks as though it is has reverted back to 2megs in the migration. ooops.

I have set the max upload to 10megs. Does someone want to try it?
Thanks

Here's the first clip with the Little Rock - quite a thick sounding little amp.  Too thick for DC really:

'65 Epi SG -> Twisted Transistor Booster -> Little Rock (DI output)
-> Palmer PDI-09 Speaker Simulator -> recording Walkman (cassette)

Here's the second clip with a Laney Klipp - a bit closer to DC:

'65 Epi SG -> ZVex Box of Rock -> 100w Laney Klipp
-> Palmer PDI-09 Speaker Simulator -> recording Walkman (cassette)

Finally, here's a Mule through the last DC setup (with a bit more bass added on the amp):

Relic Tokai Love Rock -> ZVex Box of Rock -> 100w Laney Klipp
-> Palmer PDI-09 Speaker Simulator -> recording Walkman (cassette)

It's thicker, and is a great rock tone.  For more accurate Angus tone though, the Klipp is where it's at for me.

The Little Rock sounds great though, there's no question of that  :D
