A good trade? My first les paul!
« on: August 04, 2007, 06:05:46 PM »
Well, my RG has turned into quite something else...

I'll be mega-strapped for cash for ages, but i don't care, 8p noodles will suffice.

So, straight swap, my RG for... my first les paul!

Gordon Smith Graduate 60s, modded a teeny bit :)

What d'ya think? good trade? :)

Ignore the neck pickup, it's screwed into the body for now, needs springs, had bkp's in before... now has my dimarzio's in, will have a full set of black dogs soon.

I don't think i've done too badly, havent bought a guitar since 3 guitars ago! bought an ibanez SA 1260 pretige in sound control for £300, swapped that for an awesome but not my style RG 550, now swapepd that for this lovely les paul? i wonder whats next!

:D For what its worth i`d have stuck with the Gordon Smith but hey thats just a personnal choice. It depends on what your playing needs are.

sound sensible to me, if you want a LP more... a 550 is around £450, while a graduate is more like £700.

nice guitar!

you've made the first step - welcome to the club!

I remember how amazed I was at the tonal difference between my old Ibanez RGxxx (the Satch one before it was the Satch model) and my LP std.

:P Sorry, I think I've just gone off superstrats now, kinda bored of the 80s music ( :o  :o ), and prefer the sound of a nice chunk of mahogany  :)

im impressed the two GS's that i tried explorer/SG

were absolutely shitee to look at but this is quite nice well its more than quite nice i really $%&#ing like it.

im round at yours this week to play that to see if it plays as bad as the explorer/sg that i played.
