ive been arsing about with different tunings for a while now.from b c and d standard  along with open tunings...open c being my favorite of th open ones but awkward to get to grips with at th start an although i try to play broootull metal i think d standard is my fav...closely followed by C. as i think b lacks that crisp chug.though could just be my pickups.dimarzio x2n.
im likely gonna get a warpig th night but worried that theyll lose calrity in B-tuning.
anyone got pigs in Bstandard????? do they still do pinch harm easy??

This song is in AADGBE. It is a pretty cool tuning.

Left guitars are Painkillers Right guitars are Ceramic Warpigs. Song is still in the works, this is just a rough mix of it.

I've also done a song in G flat. That is where clarity is really hard to keep.

www.myspace.com/parkadez the last song on the list "That's the last time I go..."

I think pickups make a huge difference, as do the amp, and cab, and playing volumes.

I use D standard and drop C exclusively for my band material as my singer cant sing in standard :P but i prefer how it sounds just that step lower anywya.

I like C standard myself, although sometimes I wonder if I should go to D

C is good for thinking my way around the guitar though cos I used play piano and so I think in C

"Rawhide in A. Good country key"

I don't think there is such a thing as 'the best tuning'. It depends on the song, the player, the guitar, the pickup etc. even the singer.

I messed around with all sorts of tunings, but in recent years have settled on Eb for most of my guitars.

I have one guitar tuned to Eb/dropC#, one to C/dropBb & one to E (for playing along with instructional DVDs)
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

Vito Bratta used that tuning on a couple of songs off of Pride, namely Little Fighter.

I like being tuned to B.  My guitars have been tuned to be for the past 12 years or so now.

I've got a Cold Sweet in my main guitar.  It seems to handle being in B very well.
Cold Sweat set in Mockingbird NJ Classic > Boss GT6 > Sansamp PSA > VHT 2/90/2 > Zilla 2x12 cab > =D

I don't see downtuning as anything metal. It just makes the open key lower basically and gives you more notes. More notes isn't metal to me. I'm bad eough with E standard already and it's metal enough for me I guess.

I'm starting to use Open-C for a heavier sound.

Low C all the way up to your normal top E? it's all about the range...
