So I had'nt used my wah in years, right, and I tried it the other day (at a mates behest: he wanted to know what sweeps sound like with a wah, and then so did I: it sounds gay, btw) and I didnt get on with it, in general.

I have a vox 847, and I'm wondering, is there something else with a growlier sound and broader sweep that I may find more satisfying for my metal procivities and less 60s and gay?

If not I'm just gonna sell it. One less thing to clutter with, and it should have a good home with someone that appreciates it.

I have one of those and tbh, it's one of the BEST Wah's out there for metal and rock.

Crybaby's are too shrill and Morleys are a W- pedal at best!

However - the Zakk Wylde dunlop crybaby is nice.  A shame that it's covered with his name really!

I always thought that the Vox wah sounded best with single coils.

I know a couple of folks here swear by the RMC (Tease) wahs http://www.realmccoycustom.com/

I'm not too fond of the crybabys myself, but then I don't actually own a wah ATM, and it's only from laying around with them in shops.

Thanks for the opinions folks. I'll start wah-hunting.

In the mean time, I think adjusting it to give a lower sound....and then not using it for another 3 years

I dig the Cry Baby with Fasel in it. Real thick classic Wah tone. Thicker than the original Cry Baby cause it has the Fasel in it.
