i am not having a go with you guys but I do not approve spezel locking tuners... i guess it all depands on different guitars but i certainly do not like em on mine.

there are 3 reasons for it;

1. 1:12 ratio makes it tuning incredibly difficult for fine tuning
3. their build quality isn't as good as what people say (imho)
2. they are so light, having to take weight off from the headstock, what I have left with is less sustain and thinner tone!!!

I installed spezels to replace schaller, and to be 100% honest, i prefered schaller, 1:18 ratio, creamy rotation pegs and tuning stability etc etc. wish i could install it back to my guitar but i am shame to say, i had to drill the holes larger to install spezels...

i would recommand grover or schaller locking tuner. for me they are built way better than spezels.

Thanks guys, the tuners are going on a custom Warmoth neck, so I don't want to c--k it up by drilling Sperzel's required stabiliser holes myself, but I really like the look of Sperzels.

I have looked at planet waves and I think they look a bit odd, although they would be so much easier to fit and I would be happy to fit them myself.

Decisions, decisions...

People all over the world fit Sperzels everyday without mistakes - why are you so adamant that you'll muck up? lol?

1. I aint no luthier.
2. I don't have proper tools.
3. The neck is going to be expensive and taking 4 weeks to make and ship. No room for error.

I think, I'm going to go for Planet Waves tuners, Warmoth stock them and they seem relatively simple to install.

Thanks for your help all.
