sorry I'm late- been on hols.
Highlights:
Gogol Bordello
Johnny Borrell falling over (yes, I went to see Razorlight)
Dan le sac vs. scroobius pip- never heard of them but the dance tent was great fun, even though I didn't know any of the bands or songs.
Young Knives
Red Hot Chili Peppers- Much Like Indysmith with SP, there was shite (in this case filling half the encore with fretwank) but I'd always wanted to see them, and the hits made up for it.
Pull Tiger Tail- should be huge. Mr 100% is a £&%!ing TUNE. also I got my only festival freeby there- A tiger mask which I wore for the rest of the day
Seasick Steve- Just the blues done proper. To be in an audience feeling this adoration (it was here that I finally lost my voice) to a blues player on a day where the main stage was filled with emo was brilliant. And he was absolutely the real deal, and funny. I was going to leave after him, and I really wanted to go during peter bjorn and john. but I'm glad I stayed there for my total festival highlight:
The Hold steady- An absolute diamond. I'm so glad I stayed in the carling tent over seeing the pumpkins or klaxons, because I was right at the front for the hold steady. A really superb straight up rock band, boys and girls in america is now my favourite album, and It was the perfect way to end the festival.
