I found a CTS one which is half 500K and half 250K - maybe you could use the 500K bit for the neck pickup and the 250K for the bridge (or vice versa).  If you still have a 250K volume control, I believe that will have more effect on the overall brightness than the tone control (although I've never been quite sure why that is).
