Cheers Horsey.  I've been llistening to loads of clips of JTM45s and I really think it's the sound I'm looking for.  Early Angus, ZZ Top, Jimi, SRV - there's elements of all of them in there.

Damn this waiting...

You're such a big fan of the Shiva sound, so I was thinking if you wouldn't be better off selling all your current amps plus the money you intend to spend on the JTM and get a Shiva instead?

A good point Hunter, but I don't want to spend Shiva money on one amp.  Much as I like the sound of it, I find Bogner prices just too much at £1400.  Plus I think it looks rubbish

I think a good JTM45 with a pedal or boost can do a lot of what the Shiva can.

Check out http://www.ceriatone.com

It's around $1000 for the complete amp built by Ceriatone, a cabinet and shipping.  So that's around £500 plus import duty.

Everybody help me out here and get Nik to build a Silverface Fender Super Reverb clone (most.underrated.amp.ever) and also something with KT88 tubes.

Sod that, I want him to start making a JTM45/100 kit with four KT66s

Should have my JTM45 in a couple of weeks.  I'll get some pics up when I've got it here  :D

Didn't the old Marshall Major run KT88 tubes in the power stage?

Stupid loud, from what I understand, loud to the point of being useless unless you happen to be in Deep Purple or something.

Well the extra cosmetic "bits" and my KT-66 valves turned up yesterday.  The amp should be finished and ready for collection at the weekend   8)

Oh, and when I pick it up I'm dropping off one of my Klipps to be converted to Marshall Super Bass spec

Knowing a good local amp tech is proving to be a GAS guzzler...
