I know that all sounds like I'm cynical about it, but I do actually like the Spider range of amps - they're great value and the valve output stage will likely fix the major problem the amp had (lack of valve midrange crunch)
I got the impression that the line6 gubbins simply replaced the tone stack, but apart from that it was a normal valve amp. However I was listening in a noisy office while trying to appear like I was working.
Also what they may count as the tonestack may be open to debate
Well I had the original spider that did clean or uber metal (and nothing in the middle), though everybody tells me that the new nones are considerably better.
Somehow I wish that they had simply released a Bogner designed valve amp and had an s/pdif interface to plug a Pod into. If the amp specs where pitched right they would sell like hotcakes but woudn't affect the normal Bogner range
Everybody could have been happy
