New guitar :D
« on: September 08, 2007, 02:33:42 AM »
So I was at my local guitar store a few days ago and I played this used LTD they had (this store doesn't sell LTDs, only used) and it was 399 used, the model is m-302, Anyways, when I played it i couldn't believe it was that cheap, and I bought it :) The specs are:

Made in Korea
24 XJ frets
1 volume control, 1 tone control and an ESP 5-way Ultraswitch.
Pickups: 2 EMG HZ-4 humbuckers (Passive). (Miracle Mans sometime probably)
Body : Mahogany w/flamed maple top. Neck-thru.
Neck : 3-piece maple
Fretboard : Rosewood
Finish : Clear
Trem: Licensed Floyd
Not an expensive guitar (I actually don't know what the retail price was, its discontinued) but it looks, and plays great, and I'm sure it will sound great with some BKPs in there

And yes, that is a random Ibanez case they gave me for free, the last owner brought it in with the guitar. I will probably get an ESP case for M series soon. Oh its also in mint condition, the pictures are brutal i showing every single little scratch. And no that line in the end of the body of the back isn't a scratch its not even on the guitar..some picture defect hah

EDIT: So it turns out the retail price was 349.99 0_0 and its a 2002 model...I payed 50 dollar above retail for a 5 year old guitar...but whatever, its a hell of a value

Gorgeous!

Some of those LTDs are absolutely amazing.

The LTD H-1000 is one of the greatest guitars I've ever played for example.

It's a really nice guitar, and it's a shame you paid what you did - Suprised by that retail price.

The pickups and most likely the bridge will need replacing - But I've only heard good things about the Mirage series LTDs.

Btw - I really don't recommend the ESP cases. Extremely heavy, and not that great protection.

You're better off with a Hiscox fitted for Superstrats.

Thats true, but I would like a case that is as tight a fit as can be for my guitar, like my Ibanez Prestige case, its very nice and its such a tight fit my guitar almost didnt fit when i installed strap locks on it... and my ltd doesnt fit that case either, I will look at a lot of brands though, like gator and hiscox

This is my Ibanez case, If i could find something like this to fit the LTD that would be amazing. any suggestions?

what is the purpose of a 5 way switch on a 2 pickup guitar? parallel/ series, or something?

1: front humbucker
2: back coil of front humbucker
3: both humbuckers
4: front coil of back humbucker
5: back humbucker

I'm not sure about which coil of the humbucker is used when its split, i havent checked yet, so I just guessed.

I don't normally like pointy guitars, but if it plays as nice as it looks then it was worth the money.

ESP cases aren't very tight.

Hiscox cases are pretty much the best you can get.

That's a really nice looking guitar, I love the natural finish!

I wish LTDs were cheaper in england.

Wow I would have loved to have found that guitar, and I would have snapped it up too even considering the markup compared to the original retail. That sure is one hulluva guitar!
