Hey! I have read it, but I didn't understand the meaning of "tapped" p90's, can anybody help me?

there is coil split and coil tapped.
with humbuckers they do a coil split which I guess you already know about
but a coil tap means taking a certain number of winds out of the circuit, reducing output.

anyone feel free to correct anything I have wrong :P but I think its right

Yep, just as Will described. By 'tapping' the pickup you take the output 2/3 of the way through the coil (for instance) which would give something like 6k on a standard P90 for less output.

:? Weird... So this way a BKP-92 will sound alike a 91 or 90?? But it change much thing? isn't easier to make one under-winded?

it gives you the option. the coil tap is not always on
if you have a switch for it (instead of push pull knob), you can have full power, and then flick the switch and you have reduced power

its really all semantics... but yes, will is right - a coil tap is a coil with an extra output for different power levels from the same coil and a split is where you take a humbucker and remove one coil....

... but when people come to me and say they want a coil tap switch i know they genrally mean coil split!!

the real question is, are BKP actually offering this as an option? i know if i spoke to tim to get it done as a custom he would be able to do it but i want to know how he feels it affects the quality of the pickup !!
