the best punk band IMHO... what pickups do people reckon for getting this tone out a V?

certianally not the mules, riff raffs or miracle man i have at the moment.

you think nailbomb hellstyle? too bad :(

from the description of it on the site you're right, but i'm not too keen on the clips in the players forum. once i tried a nailbomb in a superstrat of philking who was trying to convince me about it, again i wasn't persuaded. maybe it sounds like this in the room, but recorded it sounds a bit strange to my ears.

The cheapest pickups you can buy?  I got that tone in the 80s with a Squier Katana and a Hondo SG clone both sold on to some spikey haired weirdos.

I reckon Warpigs.
BKPS: Milks, P90s, Apaches, Mississippi Queens, Mules, PG Blues, BG FP 50s, e.60s strat custom set

squier katana, lol ;) was actually thinking about buying one of those the other day... for about 5 minutes :)

i have the exploited album with this is on, the tone is actually incredibly complex if you listen to a decent recording of it, the production is really top notch. maybe they used cheap pickups, but they have been eq'd very well.

warpigs would surely have the agression, but too much bass maybe?

i see what ratrod means with the rebel yell, with aggressive playing, maybe the large rock sound could made pretty punk.

exploited doesn't sound sooo different from nailbomb (the band) tone, just a bit smoother and lighter
no pickup will give that sound by itself
what distortion sources are you using?
i'd never put a nailbomb in a strat, but i love how it sounds um big mahogany guitars
maybe a cold sweat would do the job too

indy, hellstyle... you say nailbomb and i dont disbelieve you. however, in the past i've been less keen on this pickup. is there a particular clip you'd suggest i listen to, or perhaps you have the time to make something?sorry if this is too much effort.

thanks
