Quick and probably stupid question...

I know if you connect a mono jack plug to a stereo socket you just lose one side of the signal, but I'm looking for a way to play a stereo signal as a mono one. Would a Y shaped connector do it? (http://www.audiogear.com/cgi-bin/shopper.cgi?key=Adpt-2RcfRcmS&preadd=action)

I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work but then I've always hated anything that in any way relates to high school physics.

Cheers.

I am sure it will work.  seem to recall doing something similar many years ago. I have a multi f/x unit which has a stereo output but if you want mono you just use the left output-slightly different slant but may or may not be relevant.
