HD has a thicker/darker overall tone (less treble cut) - thats the way Tim described it to me.  I was set on the HD for my Explorer but Tim said it would be too dark in his opinion.

I went with Tim's suggestion and put a NB in there - it's a great rawk pickup that loves high gain.

Yeah I think Heavier than Hell basically got it right.

The Holy Diver clips I've heard all seemed to have great dynamics, sorta like Van Halens first album.

Nailbombs do pinch harmonics very well and have to be the best sounding shred pickups I've ever heard.
