If it is then I should think that it will be the effect of the rate of exchange. The £ is very strong against the $ at the moment.

You are still getting them cheap. A crawler set is £190, at current exchange rates you would be paying $387.

So you are payng a lot less for an import than we pay for a non import.

Actually now is probably a good time to buy, if you can snap up old stock at old prices you'll effectively be buying at half price.

The exchange rate really kicks in when the re-sellers have to buy new stock at the current exchange rate, then they have to put up their prices.

If you really can buy a set at $179, exchange rates aside, you are still paying less in dollars than we pay in pounds.

no, no, no. that $179 is what we're paying per pickup. we're getting hurt over here in the US, not getting a bargain...

We haven't put changed our prices in the past 5 years since we started out and have no plans to do so.The exchange rate is heavily loaded against US customers with the $ being weak against the £ but to give an example, a covered set of Mules = £190 at RRP here in the UK.......non EU customers don't pay UK VAT(17.5% sales tax) so US customers pay £161.70 which is @ $330 for the pair.Obviously it's always worth shopping around with the dealers as some may be more competitive than others.
Anyway, be assured we are not increasing our prices!

Ahh, sorry dude, misunderstood you, you said "I just got a crawler cali. and was charged $172.00 " I took a "cali" to be a calibrated set. In which case you have my sympathy.

And thanks for the clarification Tim, it all makes sense now. I just hope you're not planning a move to Korea to cut costs!

yeah its obviously not anything you're doing that makes it more expensive in the US. its just how it is, and it sucks.

Yeah there are many things that can affect the exchange rate, and it is often a reflection on the state of a country or the money market's confidence in the currency.

The housing collapse and mortgage problems that have been happening in recent months wont do anything to help the confidence in the US economy

The administration may see the weak $ as a good thing for exports asUS made goods will be more attractive overseas, but makes it more difficult to sell goods into the US from overseas
