Blackstar HT Dual soundclips

OK, one or two folks have expressed an interest in the Blackstar HT Dual soundclips that I have, so I thought it would probably deserve it's own thread.
  THe HT dual has the same tone circuitry as the HT dist, it's just that the HT Dual is a 2 channel version. The tones that the two pedals can get are the same though.
 
  The HT Dual has two jack outputs you can choose from. A standard output, and an output with a cab sim applied to it, for direct use into a recording system, or PA. I have clips of both.
  The other slightly unusual thing about the Blackstar pedals is that they have a control called ISF. basically the ISF control governs what frequencies the bass, middle and treble controls will alter. THis gives a lot of flexibility in the sounds you can get out of it.
  I think the pedal's forte is in Marshall sounds, from superlead plexi, right up to JCM900-type tones.
OK, here's the clips. All direct clips are through the "cab-sim" output, straight into the computer. The miked clips are, umm,  miked, and through the "normal" output of the pedal !
Channel 1 is the cleaner channel, but has a goodly amount of gain available (if you listen to later in each clip).

As Will says. I think everywhere that has them is the same price.  I got mine from Machinehead. Always, always good to look for a friendly return policy with any pedals.  :D
   I've not played the other Blackstar pedals, but pretty much all reviewers agree that the HT Dist and HT Dual are the pick of the bunch.

It's actually something "a bit different". It's through an Atomic Reactor 50W. It has a very wide-range speaker (Eminence Megaton - specially made for Atomic), so I also put it through a Palmer PDI-09 cab sim DI.  You're right, I hate any sort of bright harshness at all. I tend to EQ everything a bit dark for some folks.
   What I will say is that the EQ controls on the Blackstar HT Dual are very effective and have a huge range of adjustment. I can't imagine that someone who likes any sort of Marshall tone would not be able to a sound they really liked out of it.

I had an HT-Dual very briefly.

I agree it's an excellent sounding unit, and very versatile, but sadly I had to send it back, as when I tried to use it with my wah pedal, all I got with the wah c--ked back in the bass position was a loud 'wouououououououou' sort of noise.

Anyone else experienced anything similar (with Blackstar or other drive units?), or was mine just faulty? I had read on HC that the HT-Dual didn't like wah pedals, but I took it with a large pinch of salt - however, based on my experience, it would seem to be the case.

I was gutted to have to send it back, because I really liked the sound.   :(

My mate Martin's HT Dual works fine with his Bad Horsie wah.  Maybe it's certain types of wah it doesn't like?

Could well be Twinfan.  Perhaps it isn't fond of wahs with a potentiometer -mine's a Dunlop Zakk Wylde - the Morley is an optical isn't it?

Yep, it's optical.  Not sure why one would be more prone to issue than the other though?

Nope, I've no idea either. If anybody has any ideas, I'd be interested to hear them.

 Sending it back was a real shame as far as I was concerned, as I really liked the sound. But I can't afford to tip out £140 for something which isn't going to work with a pedal I use a hell of a lot.
