WOW My life is complete. Didn't think I'd ever get the chance to see Rush after I was forced to miss the R30 tour. But I made it to Wembley Arena to see them this time round.
It was amusing to see that I was significantly below the average age of the audience - at 35 & still listening to mostly metal it's been a long time since I could say that about a gig I attended :) There were quite literally people in their 50s in suits there (no, I'm not talking about the band)
When I got there I found that I'd been moved from somewhere near the back to 11 rows from the front (RESULT!) - but on Geddy's side so I had to crane my neck a bit to see Alex :(
As for the band, they were fantastic. Only a truly great rock band can take a relatively weak setlist that leaves out most of their best material & still make it into an awesome show. I wasn't at all disappointed.
Alex must have either fallen out with PRS or been wooed by Gibson as he played exclusively Gibsons. Mainly Les Pauls (a couple of seriously droolsome Floyd-equipped LPs, some piezo-bridge LPs, a Goldtop, his old white ES335 & a gorgeous 12-string J200).
Anyway, absolutely exhausted & starving but very very happy :)
