Ahh awesome!

What I meant about neck is the actual back of the neck, as Antag said Ibanez feel flat. I'll need to try before I buy, even if it means a bit of a trip, but hopefully it'll be worth it  :D

I took the plunge into PRS ownership earlier this year with a CE22 Mahogany. Haven't played my other guitars for some while......

Tone wise its like a focused SG , playability is second to none and feels stratty due to the bolt on neck. I'm not keen on the inbetween sounds but  in full humbucking mode you can get some serious clunk along with great clarity-which is not always the case with my Gibson LP.

I have a standard 24 with Rebel Yells, an Artist II 22 with A4 Mules and and EG 4 with a Crawler and 2 BKP-91's.  The standard is from 1990 and has a great feel, with the RY's it screams and has an excellent rock sound.  The Artist has a bit larger neck and with the hardtail has a different voice acoustically.  With the Mules I can get any blues or rock tone that I want.  Both of these have the 5 way switching, and since moving to BK's, positions 2 & 4 are much better.  The EG4 is a stealth guitar because it sounds amazing and plays great.  This is a 1991 model and with the HSS setup using P-90's rather than single coills, it is really versatile.

I may have to get BKP's if I buy one, but I'm not sure yet, I'll see where they work well ,etc.

Well, I was on my teachers Singlecut today, and it seems the Wide Fat neck is perfect. I have an SG special, and the neck is fat, but I can't play Fenders, Or Ibanez, but the PRS WF neck was just, perfect, slightly thinner than the SG, but still enough chunk to be comfortable with. Now time to get a job, and buy this....

GOOD choice!

I went to Austin Texas yesterday to demo an amp. Thats it, just demo an amp! I took an EMG equipt. guitar so asked to try a passive guitar there. They gave me a PRS Singlecut and it never left my hands!!!!!!!!! NEVER have I been so taken by a guitar before! It just felt as if I had been playing it for years.

Needless to say, wether 'needing' it or not (let alone affording it) it came home with me. It plays that well it 'inspires' me. No longer do I see PRS as 'wallhangers' they are in fact amazing guitars and IMO put companies like Gibbo to shame with their quality control, materials, wood choice, tone etc!

It's hard to photo but is a  'satin' with THE sweetest NON sticky neck ever :)

Nice guitar!!

Unfortunately, what with gigging and stuff, a satin guitars finish would start to get ugly if I had one, so gloss is what I'm after!  :D

Well, will see how she holds up.
She has a nitro finish and the top is dyed (prior to nitro) so should be pretty good. I MUCH prefered the satin neck, faster/smoother.

i disagree about the satin finish getting ugly, yes it'll "age" quicker, but not in a bad way.  in no time at all it'll look like the guitar you've spent your life with!

awesome guitar, nick. i like the one in blue best, but that's very nice too.

Now if they'd just change their pricing to be more in line with US prices...
