OMG!

i dont usually like 80s, long hair, super strat, shred bands... but i've been listening to racer X clips all morning on youtube, and they are marvellous! scary musicians though - all of them.

Welcome to the world of Racer X! :D

Gilbert is one of the all time greatest, so it's no wonder his band was brilliant.

Scarified is such a great song aswell :>

One might say the same for Scott Travis too.

In fact thats why I checked them out, I thought - mmm Scott Travis + Paul Gilbert.

They just manage to sound quite brutal despite the technical playing. Favourite so far is 'Super Heroes'.

Technical difficulties and God of the Sun all the way man. The bass player now has his own signature fender and plays with The Mars Volta as well. A talented bunch no doubt. I believe Bruce Bouillet is Touring as part of Pauls band on the 'Get outta my Yard' trip!

Love it. Gilberto's one of my all-time heros... my dream G3 lineup would be him, Buckethead and John 5.

Kudos to that line up my man! Mine would be Ron Thal/Mattias 'Ia' Ecklund/Senor Gilberto.

I do love John 5 and the buckethead...maybe G5!

Man, I almost flagged that vid as inappropriate, cos it is obviously pornographic! The sound of a good shred always gives me that special feeling in my tummy.

Racer X was only really Racer X with bruce bouillet, all the stuff without him really sucks. Theres a live song called Scit Scat Wah which is probably the best instrumental, my only problem with Racer X/ Gilbert stuff is that it is all 3 note per string scales over and over its hardly well composed music but it does serve a purpose among shred kids
