I'm surprised your BB Pros sound bright. My LP faded sounded very dark... I'm pretty sure It wasnt chambered either as it was a very very heavy axe.

MM may make your guitar less versatile.

I have MM in my Vee and I only ever play metal on that guitar.

I'm searching for higher output pickups to push the amp harder and to play some serious hardrock and metal stuff. Mostly I play lead guitar and I like the sound to be smooth with tight bass response and singing highs for both neck and bridge positions.

Yep, that's the MM all over :)

I have an MM set in on of my LP Stds & it's a seriously good sounding guitar.  Perfect for metal.

I got a variable coil split wired for the neck pickup instead of the neck tone pot & replaced the volume pots with 500K.  It's not to bright at all & retains all the floor-shaking low end that you expect from a MM

Agree with Ted's comment that MMs will make the guitar less versatile, but you did say that you want this for rocking out & that you have lower output pickups in your other LPs, so I guess that's what you expected....
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

I would suggest you dig a little deeper with your playing (ie, play harder if you need to) and put a Black Dog set into that guitar. It's in the correct tonal ballpark that you're looking for, and will be very versatile.

If I were in your position, I would do the opposite: I would put the MM into the LP Studio and the Black Dogs into the faded. You can at least try the BDs in the faded since you own em already and see how they work ... The MM in the LP will get you very close to that EMG sound you recall.
