I've only just discovered it, but it's so good that it deserves it's own thread imo. This is going to be in my head for weeks!

how could you have only just discovered that song - where have you been???

Actually i have recently gone through a bit of a phase of listening to the cure again.  I think i was a bit to young to appreciate it the first time around

At this rate i am gonna turn into a fat goth within a few years, i was always a bit too smiley as a teenager to pull of Goth - now i am older and miserable i could probably do it!!

I was friends with Robert Smith's wife Mary (was his girlfriend at the time)- we lived on the same floor at the halls of residence for the college I went to before switching courses to do guitar making (I was doing applied physics before).

She used to play me his music a lot

To be fair I was born in 1986, and I still don't consider myself an 80s kid. Done most of my growing up in the 90s, still have fond memories of being 4 and loving Transformers.

Ah nostalgia.

most of my students at the moment were born in 90 or 91 - it makes me feel old that the 90's were such a special time for me....... but at least its not the 70's ot 80's i am talking about................  I am still with it - whatever you all may say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ahem...getting back to the point I've recently been enjoying Inbetween Days but covered by Ben Folds..an amazingly well written song that stands up well to being covered.

But also The Divine comedy have some excellently written songs as well

P.S. I was born in 1977...& I feel bloody old as well

The studio version was pitched up slightly by the sounds of things, to make it even more "pop"-sounding.

Also, the Cure are totally awesome and the best band ever, and Fat Bob should be knighted for his services to music/hairspray. I can go weeks listening to nothing else. They're so bracingly cheerful and optimistic, without ever being saccharine and twee like (for example) Joy Division. ;)

Seriously. Best band ever.
