Best and/or Worst Lyrics

I'm going to be very predictable and mention SikTh. They do have some great ones though:

Bitchin erected muscle lickin
Think I'd rather be chokin my chicken

and

I can't stand them, I can't stand this
About as much fun as drinking a pint of piss
Can't wear that and you can't smoke this
Bitter as a cold brew
Bitter as a cold brew pint of piss

do rather tickle me.

They do have the odd headscratcher as well:

Flogging the horses
Report in the office
Camels walking free
Drinking honey tea

Politics aside, this lyric always gets me - such anger in the words!!!

A curse upon you Oliver Cromwell
You who raped our Motherland
I hope you're rotting down in hell
For the horrors that you sent
To our misfortunate forefathers
Whom you robbed of their birthright
"To hell or Connaught" may you burn in hell tonight

Worst, well, nu-metal springs to mind. Korn, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park., I feel embarrased for them all I really do, that many albums sold, folk just aren't gonna forget.

Shane MacGowan has a book of good ones, alright, Mr Bump.

I've always thought the line "You're the measure of my Dreams" from "Rainy Night in Soho" was pretty damned close to perfect. The whole song is a peach, like, but that line....gah, gets me nearly every time.

I've been loving you a long time
Down all the years, down all the days
And I've cried for all your troubles
Smiled at your funny little ways
We watched our friends grow up together
And we saw them as they fell
Some of them fell into Heaven
Some of them fell into Hell

I took shelter from a shower
And I stepped into your arms
On a rainy night in Soho
The wind was whistling all its charms
I sang you all my sorrows
You told me all your joys
Whatever happened to that old song
To all those little girls and boys

Now the song is nearly over
We may never find out what it means
But there's a light I hold before me
And you're the measure of my dreams
The measure of my dreams

Sometimes I wake up in the morning
The gingerlady by my bed
Covered in a cloak of silence
I hear you in my head
I'm not singing for the future
I'm not dreaming of the past
I'm not talking of the first time
I never think about the last

Now the song is nearly over
We may never find out what it means
Still there's a light I hold before me
You're the measure of my dreams
The measure of my dreams
Evil, Evil, Evil...
