Hmm I need boost for it, to hit the level of gain for Sykes and Campbell.
I have thought of a old Boss OD-1, as I have found one and heard alot of good stuff about it for a 80s metal sound or a MXR ZW. Which one of these would be best? Or a SD-1? Or OD-3 perhaps?Or the Zvex box of rock?
Well, the SD-1 is the most neutral booster, will give you an additional tone control, nicely versatile.
OD-1, this is my baby, its the brightest of them all, great bite and excellent full range booster (a tone control also has a downside like some people seem to forget all the time GRRRRR!!!

). If you like that high tuby 'zing' in your harmonics i would advice you to try this one first. When used as a booster it will boost especialy high mids.
OD-3, somewhat warmer but still nice and open sounding, bit more bluesy. More of an overdrive pedal then a booster, sounds better then a bluesdriver and is more suitable for it IMHO. Maybe the best allrounder overdrive if you dont want a 'perfect' booster.
Well thats about my take on it. Ow and if you are able to buy a good OD-1 at reasonable price, go for it because it seems to be harder to get one every year.
