:D Ok here`s some of `em

Threshold - Dead Reckoning

The best album of the year for me. Great songs, great playing what more could you ask for. Every song & i mean every song here's a killer.

Scorpions - Humanity Hour 1

I wasn`t sure what to make of a new Scorps album but this is simply brilliant. Like Threshold this is an album you will still be playing in years to come.

Rush - Snakes & Arrows

This is a grower. After the 1st few listens you find yourself walking down the street humming it ! Its also got 3 great instrumentals on it as well.

Winterborn - Cold Reality

Ok this actually came out right at the end of last year but i wasn`t able to play it before my hospitalisation so..... A great power Metal album bursting with great songs & great playing.

Well there you go thats all for now.

Well, a resurection-lite from me, because I've only just had time to read through the top 50 lists to remind me what was actually released this year...
no particular order:
1)Radiohead - In Rainbows
2)Arcade Fire - Neon bible
3)Hold steady - Boys and girls in america
4)Kings of leon - Because of the times
5)White stripes - Icky Thump
6)Klaxons - Myths of the near future
7)Arctic Monkeys - favourite worst nightmare
8)Gogol bordello - Super taranta
9)Amy Winehouse - back to black
and err... 10) Led zeppelin - mothership. ahem.

Even with an optimistic inclusion of a couple (underdog world strike was better than taranta, klaxons is only included for the ace cover of "it's not over yet", and the zep is cheating) this year has been quite cr@p.
I can only Hope for decent albums from the young knives, pull tiger tail, and hold steady in '08...... :(

Rush, Snakes & Arrows
Rush returns with a roundhouse kick straight to the head! Brilliant playing and production. Plus, a folk Zeppelin-inspired instrumental by one of my alltime favourite guitarists, Alex Lifeson. The lyrics once again enter the realm of poetry and social commentary, so get your thesaurus and New York Times out for this one.

Standout tracks: Armour And Sword, Hope, Malignant Narcissism

Yep, this was my standout album for 2007 - partly influenced by having managed to see them live (something I was resigned to never doing).  I liked Vapor Trails better but Snakes & Arrows is still a wonderful album.  Great to see a band that have been around forever still stretching themselves & putting out great new music.

For me, the standout tracks were/are: Bravest Face, We Hold On & Far Cry :)
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

Four year strong - Rise or die trying

Pop punk but with a really entertaining twist to it.

Erm...

Xasthur - Defective Epitaph

not as good as his other stuff, but it's still interesting?

man, i've really not been paying attention this/last year!
