prefer vibrato, used to layout, TONE of SC245 is aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Now, for feel, lurv the unfinished neck on the trem model (like my Flatheads) but overal NOT a trem lover (partial reason Petrucci up for sale). ONLY reason bought the trem (as would never have looked at it otherwise) is that store let me play it for non-active pups (had one of my Flatheads with me) into amp when was looking in Austin.

It is more modern sounding (25" scale and PRS #6 pups still) and for me the 245 is IT. Although it does add diversity with the coil split. Put it this way, both the SC and Pet have only ever had the trem bar in place once each :)

I can't play the video on this computer.  Is it a powder blue one?  They had one for review at the same time as the Engl.

I was curious so tried out a Mira in a local guitar shop. I wish I hadn't as it was absolutely superb. It was a deep red colour with a wide thin neck - it felt so much nicer than the sg standard I tried out as well!!

I now definitely need one.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Ha ha - they're great aren't they?

They're a cross between an LP Junior (shape) and an SG (body contouring).  My two favourite guitars, so it's no wonder I like it....

Been thinking - a Korina Mira with Soapbars would be killer!

A big YES to the korina, a big NO to the soapbars!

I know this makes no sense - I love a single P-90 on a guitar, but I don't like two of them.  I don't know if it's because they sound too similar to each other, or simply because a single-pickup Junior is just so perfect.  :?   It's taken me no less than four dual P-90 guitars to come to this conclusion.  I'm a slow learner.

Ultimately, that's the main reason I'm selling my Pete Townshend SG.

Horses for courses Phil - I like a neck P-90.

A korina Mira with 'buckers, 24 frets and birds would be OK with me too  ;)

I was in Birmingham and I popped over to PMT to see if I could try a Mira. Well, I tried both of the necks Wide Thin and the Standard. I'd say the wide thin is more of a D shape and the standard is the very nice C shape I have come to love on my PRS SE soapbar.

Anyhow, the guitar was played through a roland cube so not ideal but it certainly gave me an idea of the playability. It plays like a dream, really easy nice frets and very light guitar. The coil tap is excellent and the single coil sounds are great with the humbucker tones sounding fat and chunky like their supposed to. The pickups were quite hot, but sounded nice clean. The pots however felt a bit cheap, to flimsy for my liking.

The guitar I played was a deep cherry red and the finish was outstanding. However, I was dissapointed with the inlay work and the fretboard looked a bit "dry" and was a little disappointing.

The good thing is I have a Strat for single coil sounds and a LP for humbucker sounds, so I can't see how a Mira could replace these and my GAS has dropped.

And sometimes it's good to have a bit of GAS squeezed out of you, isn't it!  :)

Years ago one of the shops on Denmark Street had a beautiful 3-pickup, aged white, gold h/w SG Custom.  I fell in love, and I was thinking how am I going to raise £1,300 to buy this  :? ?  But as soon as I picked it up I knew the neck wasn't for me.  It was quite a relief.
