I was in Birmingham and I popped over to PMT to see if I could try a Mira. Well, I tried both of the necks Wide Thin and the Standard. I'd say the wide thin is more of a D shape and the standard is the very nice C shape I have come to love on my PRS SE soapbar.
Anyhow, the guitar was played through a roland cube so not ideal but it certainly gave me an idea of the playability. It plays like a dream, really easy nice frets and very light guitar. The coil tap is excellent and the single coil sounds are great with the humbucker tones sounding fat and chunky like their supposed to. The pickups were quite hot, but sounded nice clean. The pots however felt a bit cheap, to flimsy for my liking.
The guitar I played was a deep cherry red and the finish was outstanding. However, I was dissapointed with the inlay work and the fretboard looked a bit "dry" and was a little disappointing.
The good thing is I have a Strat for single coil sounds and a LP for humbucker sounds, so I can't see how a Mira could replace these and my GAS has dropped.
