Edwards Guitars Appreciation Thread
« on: March 03, 2008, 09:10:34 PM »
I'm making this thread because I know a fair few of you have em.
I just can't get over what a GREAT guitar mine is for the money. Every time i pick it up i feel privileged - the perfect weight, the perfect neck. It feels so lively under my hands, i can feel it REALLY physically resonate whenever i hit any chord - so satisfying. It's like it's been tailored to me! Everything about my Edwards LP screams my name. I maintain that I must have got a freakishly good one - they can't all be built to this standard for such a reasonable price. Obviously there's the issue of having to import them, meaning you can't try before you buy, which is always a HUGE drawback, but I think if you have the guts and the faith to brave the mystery and the wait for it to arrive, then you'll be heavily rewarded.

Come one guys, give Edwards some love.

Well the top picture is of Welsh rugby legend Gareth Edwards.  I don't know the second chap but I'm guessing he's also an Edwards.

And if that doesn't show my age I don't know what does...  :|
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Bottom pic is Jonathan Edwards.

But back on topic. I've never tried an Edwards.

presumably that navigator is going to be awesome.

edwardses are really nice. Unfortunately, the pound has kind of nose-dived since I got mine, which would add (by my extremely rough calculations) about £50-£100 over and above what I got mine for. Kinda has soured my enthusiasm for more.

Which is annoying, as they're really nice guitars. :(

yeah, i've decided to go with a vintage tokai strat and tele, as I think I prefer the vibe of having 21 frets, vintage radius and smaller frets (the edwards are 22 with a more modern radius and the only ones which aren't are the relics which are (a) more expensive and (b) relics, and i don't like relics)... never mind the fact that i can't hit the high "e" on the top string...

EDIT: also the price is better.

There ya go! I still love the look of those potbellys - just wish they came with matte finishes. And that flamed vee is possibly the only V I'd consider buying myself.
