epi '58 V A4 Mule / A2 Stormy Monday. Individually the pickups work excellently, but they don't work the best as a team
epi goth original dirty fingers. very cool pickups, but lack a bit of subtlety. bass response a bit too much for me - but its a dark guitar
gordon smith some overwound humbucker sized P90s. this guitar has really cool sounding mids! i wish that they weren't overwound, its a simdgeon too dark.
greco A5 / A4 mules. What a set this is!! Highy recommendable.
gibson Riff Raff set. Nails 'strangers in the night' tone. Neck is cold when clean though - but its got the bite for schenker soloing. I think Riff Raff / Stormy Monday would be a fine combo
feline Cold Sweat set. Neck pickup is marvellous. At first i liked the bridge - if you use it right it nails 'defenders of the faith' sort of tones. bridge is very subtle clean - like it alot. its a great vintage hot vibe. bass response is a bit flabby though on the bridge - so...
Miracle Man / Cold Sweat. The Miracle Man bridge tightens the bass response marvellously. Sounds rather modern though. Might try a Rebel Yell set in this Feline one day.
hamer DiMarzio Super Distortion / PAF. I got vintage pickups from the 70s and potted them myself. Even if they are proper vintage ones, they aren't in the same league as these other pickups. Rather nasally mids, similar to first Iron Maiden album.
If you want a vintage set, I'd go for A5/A4 mules or Riff Raff/Stormy Monday. As you can see, I've not much experience with the higher gain models, but miracle man will certinally be fine.
