I don't know, MrBump. I thought that some of what the guy was saying was a bit over generalised.
For example my brand loyalty to Maverick because of the build quality and the control system could well be seen as fanboyism but I have never rubbished any other manufacturer bar Vintage (specifically the Metal Axxe Razer model as mine was such a poor guitar and wore out very quickly due to cheap materials). I also recommend Orange amps a lot but mainly because they are the only decent amps I've had any real experience with (and that experience is fairly limited) and I like the sound and aesthetics over Marshalls, or MESAs as they kind of fill in the half-way point (Orange distortion having the lower-mid clout of the MESAs but the intuitiveness and articulation of the Marshalls and even the sombre darkness of a Vox AC class in the cleans).
Also, is our loyalty to BKP fanboyism? We rarely, if ever, name other manufacturers as being of equivalent quality (surely there has to be some old bloke in a shed doing stuff which is just as good, if not better...) or even better choices for certain sounds (however, on a manufacturer's forum this is understandable).
Sorry, that was almost philosophy  .
Anyway; it is pretty cosy over here.
