Oh I forgot to say: I did see David Gilmour in Waterstones in Horsham on Saturday. I have seen him in the town a couple of times but this was the first time for ages.

I am on the wine tonight and I have to say ( without this thread turning into a unofficial AA meet.) it is a totally different feeling to getting wasted on whiskey. I have polished off a bottle and a half of red (Albali, Tempranillo, Cab' Sauv') and it was wonderful and I feel much happier then i do on whiskey but why is it that the devil in me says whiskey is the way forward, red wine is starting to feel like a stand in, a " that'll do untill the cavelry arrive"kind of drink? .
Anyway, tonight I consider myself to be in fantasticly high spirits and I hope that I find you all in good health.
Music for tonight: Pearl Jam 'Ten', I cant belive that this was considered a "Grunge album", it is out and out rock and it is in my top 5 fo' sure.

I bid you goodnight and I will see you all on the flipside. 8)

I'm on the Strongbow Super (with a bit of blackcurrant squash as its undrinkable without) tonight, purely out of boredom and loneliness :oops: None of my mates are out due to exams and lack of money so I have nothing better to do :lol:

I'm listening to my White Stripes collection tonight, good stuff although lots of people think Jack White is cr@p, I think he's great.

Ten is a great album donovan, Alive and Even Flow are bloody good tracks imo  8)

To get the same melancholic effect with wine then you have to get some really cheap and nasty wine-none of that Jilly Goulden (I'm getting a fire bucket on a bed of anchovies with a custard aftertaste) stuff. I think you will find that that works almost as well as whisky.

You can't beat the peat inferno of Highland Malt for getting pished as $%&#! Red wine is a more of a mellow one for me, reminds me of a peculiar smelling woodbines feeling of pished!
I stood staring at the Gin today in the supermarket, not sure if i want or need another weakness for the hard stuff!

Absolutely.

I rarely get "drunk" on whisk(e)y, ie falling down, doing silly things and feeling like death the next day.  Can drink loads of the stuff.  But red wine absolutely lays me to waste, even though I like the taste.

I did get into the habit a short while ago of "treating" myself to a couple of large glasses every time I came in from work - had to stop it though, cos I knew it would end badly...

I've been lonely for the last four years of my life, which is a quarter of it lol, and yes recently i have been known to drink abit :(. Whisky if i can get hold of it, wine would be next, a good red, or a good real ale

Sorry to make all you whisky drinkers feel old :P

I advise it though, I haven't drunk Whisky since I was 13, and no vodka since I was 15. 2-3 Years of cider and lager and its great :D
