I went to see Scott Pilgrim vs the World last night. Loved it, lots of silliness and little gamer nods in it too.

I watched Gamer last night. Now I wasn't really expecting it to be any good, but it really was absolutely awful (and this is coming from someone who usually likes pointless action films). No redeeming features apart from the glitchy/gamey editing style which I quite liked in the action scenes.

I totally agree, except I didn't like the action scenes!  Absolute garbage, probably one of the ten worst films I've ever seen.

I'm at Frightfest, so I've seen about 12 films in the last 3 days.  Today, Monsters was good (and nothing at all like District 9).  And the remake of I Spit On Your Grave is bloody tremendous.  Really!

A million times worser!  I don't think Lost in Translation is a bad film (not saying it's a good one either), I just thoroughly disliked it!

Night and day with Tom and Cameron.. Good joke, happy having the summer prices for movies. (1 week with -50% on all movies here in France)

A remake of I Spit On Your Grave sounds good. The original was banned as a video nasty so I never saw it. I heard it was really good.

The original is coming out on Blu-ray next month, it's still cut by about 3 minutes though!

Even the remake, which I'd say is a lot more "mainstream" (in as much as a rape/revenge movie can ever be mainstream!) was cut by 45 seconds.

That will have been the musical number.

Fantastic Mr. Fox: Jaw dropping animation, really the guys who worked on this have produced (probably) the best ever stop-motion animated film! Having said that, even though I enjoyed the film a great deal, the film is very 'american'. The 'good animals' are all sophisticated, complex, caring professionals voiced by Americans . The 'bad humans' are all ugly, dysfunctional, base, cruel and voiced by Brits. A well worn and predicable formula that increasingly irritates me. But still highly recommended.

Sons of Anarchy - Season 2: I thought the first season was flawed but showed potential, it has been realised in the second season. I now think the series is up their with the best currently on TV like Mad Men, Dexter etc. Both the writing and the acting have improved from the first season. If this continues, it'll be challenging The Wire and OZ for my all time US TV shows. Anyone looking for a new TV show should check it out.

Well spotted Dave, I was just channel-hopping and saw it was on.     Actually considered watching, but I'd already missed half an hour.   I'll do the ironing instead.

(Edit:  Bloody hell, in fact it was a double bill of Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough!)

I've just started watching Weeds. Pretty good so far, I didn't like it to start with but it's growing!

yeah there are a lot of bonds on at the moment. I missed it too, my sister remembered she wanted to watch something on sky, and itv2 decided it wasn't going to have any reception on freeview. :( I think the world is not enough is on tonight again, though. I might have to watch it, it's at least 6 weeks since the last time I saw it on ITV2...
