Oh god, Katy Perry.

Call me a prude, but I thought she was supposed to be a recording artist.  In fact her "career" seems to consist of being photographed as often as humanly possible, displaying her baps in a disparate variety of outfits seemingly borrowed from a much smaller person.

...and the problem is?

As I said, call me a prude.....

I'm afraid I have a bit of a puritanical streak, probably the result of a religious upbringing (even though I'm now very much an unbeliever).

I find it hard to admire someone who's supposed to be an "actress" or "singer" but is actually nothing more than a professional celebrity, self-publicising in the cheapest way possible.  Same applies to Kelly Brook.  They're really no different from Jordan, Jodie Marsh or some random slapper from Series 5 of Big Brother.  I wish our lowest-common-denominator society would stop rewarding such people.

Sorry, taking it all too seriously, I know...

Well said Philly - I totally agree with that. Sadly I don't think it will change any time soon though.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Diary of a Mad Black Woman - I'm not sure why I put this on my rental list  :? Definitely in my top 10 worst films, only made it through about 35 min. Bizarre combination of revenge, romance, christianity and Eddie Murphy-est (unfunny) comedy, absolutely terrible.

Is that of those Tyler Perry films?  Not something I have any intention of watching, ever.

Yes, it's one of his  :(

Watched The Runaways the other night. Better than I thought it would be, actually. Cherry Bomb is a great song :D

Fanboys - I loved this but be warned it is very geeky. Road movie where a group of Star Wars fan travel to Skywalker Ranch to steal The Phantom Menace. I think fans of IT Crowd and Big Bang Theory will like this film, there is a crazy amount of 'in' jokes but the film is uneven and sections are very tacked-on.

I just watched 'V For Vendetta' after owning it on DVD for ages and never watching it! (again)

Quite a good film, very deep in places but a good few hours entertainment

Has anyone seen Flashbacks of a Fool with Daniel Craig Friday on the BBC?

I was surprised, this was a real cool movie!

Yesterday I saw Let Me In, the US remake of Let The Right One In..... I was dreading it a bit, because I love the original.

But they did a great job!  They've changed a few characters and plot points, the overall tone is a little more serious, but there's no crass "Hollywood-isation" of the central story and the two young leads are excellent.

Today it's the new restoration of Bridge On The River Kwai.

Tried to rewatch Avatar last night and just couldn't get through it. We ended up turning off the sound and putting on a Deadmau5 album over the top which made it a lot more interesting

No? I'll bet the podgy old ugly local crowd are either not in it, or replaced by handsome youngsters?

I'm keen to see the remake, regardless.

They're not in it, you're right... but most of the things that happen to them still happen, but to different characters (not handsome youngsters).

From Paris With Love - no substance but a great action/gun film :) The "royale with cheese" line was good

She's Out of My League - thought it was going to be shitee but actually found it quite funny thanks to the Stainer character!
